Obtaining and implementing 「Climate Technology Localization Support Project」 (Ministry of Science and ICT)

GTC was selected as the Ministry of Science and ICT's Climate Technology Localization Support Project and played a role in managing and operating the project, discovering local demand from 12 countries in energy and water, and developing promising projects. Details of the performance are as follows:

Research Background

In the face of the new climate Regime, developing countries increase demand for developing and transferring climate change response technologies that can be used for their sustainable development
※ Since the signing of the Paris Agreement (December 15), developing countries' requests for technology demand for developed countries have been increasing rapidly

In order to achieve the national (domestic and overseas) greenhouse gas reduction goal, Korea also needs to discover overseas local demand and accumulate experience in promoting projects

Research Purpose

Support for global expansion of Korean climate technologies and industries to respond to technology support demand from developing countries and lay the foundation for implementation of Korean climate technologies

Research Details

Establishment of cooperation network in developing countries

Supporting network activities among major stakeholders in climate technology cooperation, such as government of developing countries and international organizations, and contributing financially to the UNFCCC

Local Demand Discovery

Analysis and discovery of project demand that can be commercialized in promising climate technology fields for developing countries where it is easy for domestic companies to enter strategically

Management and development of promising projects

Customized support for various pre-development and development activities necessary to enhance the feasibility of promising projects
