[Bhutan] Thimphu City Green Transport Bus Information System Exemplary Project Completion
We have completed a pilot project to build a bus information system for Thimphu City, Bhutan which need to improve public transport services. Through the project, we have acquired a substantive case where domestic government-funded research institutions and small/medium companies would propagate their quality technology and knowledge in developing countries. Also we have completed GCF PPF Proposal as part of this project’s future trajectory and it is being waited for submission after receiving the letter of support from the Bhutan government.

□ Overview
ㅇ Bhutan Government asked for support in realization of low-carbon green transport system through the UNFCCC’s Technology & Finance Mechanism
※ Bhutan is a carbon-neutral country where about 70% of the country's land is covered by forests and CO2 is absorbed by forests. However, CO2 emissions from industrial processes and transportation have increased at a rapid pace.
ㅇ the Ministry of Science & ICT and the GTC are planning to support Bhutan’s public transport network through various means such as UNFCCC’s CTCN technology support programme, GCF’s developing country project proposal support programme(PPF) and etc.
