Receives UNFCCC TA Project Orders Consecutively (Kenya)

ㅇ Project Name : Catalyzing Low Cost Green Technologies for Sustainable Water Service Delivery

    - The Kenya Water Services Trust Fund requested CTCN TA through the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute to study the technical and financial propriety of green technologies in improving Kenya’s water supply.

    - GTC won the bid for this project by forming a consortium with domestic Institutes*

    * [Consortium partners] Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO)


ㅇ Objective: To develop a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model and see whether the government can work with the private sector to establish water services technologies

ㅇ Contents

- Conduct a propriety analysis of technologies to improve water supply and its sanitary conditions and to select the right technology for the job

­- Develop a PPP model and train interested parties so that they better understand and manage the selected technology

ㅇ Expected Outcome

­ To be used to implement EU’s climate safety infrastructure program and DANIDA’s (Danish International Development Agency) program to promote green growth and train professionals in the field.
